This map of reptile species richness in the U.S. is derived from the USGS Gap Analysis Program’s (GAP) national reptile ranges dataset. The map represents the total number of reptile species summarized by 12-digit hydrological units (HUCs). Light blue HUCs have the lowest number of species while red HUCs have the highest.
